CEMFLEX WATERPROOFING

Cemflex is an acrylic based emulsion that is used to improve water resistance and the adhesion of Portland cement based composites. When cemflex is mixed with Portland cement - the most common type of cement for general use around the world - and water, it forms an effective waterproofing slurry can be used in conjunction with cemflex fabric to waterproof a myriad of surfaces, including: Flowerboxes, shower floors and walls, balcony and verandah floors, retaining walls, and foundation walls. It can also be used for waterproofing between two skins of external brick walls. When cemflex is added to sand, the slurry forms a bonding coat that is used for plaster and renders.

One of the most impressive things about cemflex is that is can be fitted in any weather condition - from rain to high heat - because the surface is only activated once the concrete is poured.
Other advantages of cemflex include:

  • Easy to use
  • Watertight
  • Ideal for submerged or subterranean waterproofing
  • Excellent adhesion
  • Good abrasion resistance
  • Non-toxic
  • Oil resistant
  • UV stable
TORCH ON ROOFING

Consisting of a combination of asphalt and resin, Torch On Roofing is highly resistant to damage from the weather, debris, pests and rot. Torch On Roofing made up of two piles of modified bitumen membrane, and each layer is approximately 4mm thick. The bottom layer - also referred to as the base ply - can either be mechanically secured with screws or attached to the substrate with an adhesive. The second layer - referred to as the cap sheet - is similar in composition, but has a granulated surface that provides protection from environmental elements. The base ply and the cap sheet are fused together, using a propane torch - hence the term "torch on roofing".

Torch On Roofing is durable and can last an average of 25 years in harsh weather conditions. However, its main selling point is that it is low maintenance, and UV ray resistant. Making it a cost-effective alternative for flat roofs. Torch on roofing is similar to tar and gravel roofing. However, since it does not contain gravel, it is much lighter. This eliminates the possibility of drain and eaves trough blockage. The roofing material is rolled on and welded together permanently forming a bond with the layer or layers underneath. And unlike tar and gravel roofing, there are no noxious or unpleasant fumes during the installation process. The result of Torch On Roofing is superior waterproofing that protects your property from all environmental elements. And by sealing in heat and keeping moisture out, it will reduce your energy costs and increase the value of your home.

ACRYLIC WATERPROOFING

Acrylic waterproofing systems are designed to permanently protect most new and existing roofs, with positive drainage. This system consists of two components: a premium elastomeric liquid acrylic coating and a polyester reinforcing fabric. The fabric is placed between multiple layers of acrylic coating to create a seamless, reinforced flexible membrane that lasts indefinitely with minimal maintenance.

Acrylic waterproofing is suitable for any climate. It remains flexible in the coldest winter and does not dry or crack during heat waves. It is also UV ray resistant and environmentally friendly. Its water-based coating does not contain any toxic dispersants or tints, making it ideal for roofs that are used for rainwater collection. Additionally, acrylic waterproofing can be bonded to any surface, including asphalt, wood, metal, concrete and rigid foam insulation boards.
Other advantages of acrylic waterproofing may include:

  • Suitable for waterproofing systems and roof sealing - used in conjunction with synthetic membranes to seal and create a barrier against water - built up to 3mm thickness, the product will provide long-term protection
  • Excellent adhesion to suitability prepared surfaces
  • Easy to use, water based and non-toxic
  • Mould and fungus resistant
  • Bridges cracks and remains flexible
  • When cured, it will take light foot traffic
  • Resistant to UV exposure
  • Provides a suitable surface for subsequent coats of emulsion paint
  • Suitable for use on concrete, cement plaster, fibre cement board and cement and clay tiles
